Impact Minerals (ASX: IPT) has proposed changing its name to Altrica Advanced Materials as it shifts its corporate identity towards high-purity alumina (HPA) development.
The change requires shareholder approval by special resolution at the annual general meeting scheduled for 30 November.
The move follows an October strategic review that made the 80%-owned Lake Hope project in Western Australia the company’s principal destination for management attention and development capital.
The proposed name is intended to distinguish that direction from Impact’s earlier emphasis on precious and base metals exploration, while leaving its existing shareholdings unaffected.
Lake Hope to Take Priority
The June 2025 pre-feasibility study for Lake Hope outlined a net present value at a 10% discount rate of $1.165 billion and a post-tax internal rate of return of 47%.
Those figures were based on approximately 33 years of feedstock, with Impact confirming that the material assumptions supporting the PFS production target and associated financial forecasts remain unchanged.
The Lake Hope pilot plant installation and commissioning program remains scheduled to commence on 30 November, providing a near-term operational milestone alongside the AGM vote.
Impact also holds a 50% interest in Alluminous, whose operating HiPurA pilot plant in Perth is producing HPA for customer qualification.
Initial samples have been shipped to US battery technology partner Charge CCCV, while the company identifies semiconductors, LED lighting, batteries, synthetic sapphire, and technical ceramics as potential applications for HPA.

Impact intends to keep its HPA activities at Lake Hope and Alluminous separate in management and investor reporting from its Broken Hill and Commonwealth metals exploration assets.
The exploration team will redirect its emphasis towards critical minerals, with work on manganese, tungsten and bismuth still at an early stage.
The board considers the proposed identity more suitable for presenting a focused HPA development proposition to institutional investors as its 100-day plan progresses.
“The strategic review gave us one capital priority and two clearly separated businesses—Altrica Advanced Materials is a name that reflects that strategy,” executive chair Jim McKerlie said.
“Investors will see Altrica as an HPA critical mineral developer, and we will be measured against clear milestones, starting with construction and commissioning the Lake Hope pilot plant by 30 November 2026.”
